Castleisland Community College recognizes the important role extra-curricular activities play in the life of our student and school. We encourage students to become involved in as much as possible to foster and encourage personal confidence as well as friendship and a sense of belonging to the school.
Throughout their student life in Castleisland Community College students from First Year to Sixth Year take part in a number of school organised competitions.
At the beginning of each academic year students are invited to enter their names into the Table Tennis, Chess, Draughts and The Weakest Link competitions. Every student entered takes part in the preliminary round with the winners of each battle moving forward to the next round. Over the course of the year quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals ensue with an overall winner in each competition being crowned in February/March. These school competitions provide an outlet for students to become familiar with students from other years in the school and are also a keen source of discussion and entertainment at lunchtime!
